This policy explains what information Pond Pumps Adviser (pondpumpsadviser.com) collects when you visit, and how it is used. We aim to collect as little as possible.

Information you do not have to give us

You can read every guide and use every calculator on this site without creating an account or giving us your name or email address. Comments are switched off, and the site has no user registration.

Calculators and planning tools

The calculators, quiz, layout planner and maintenance tracker run in your web browser. The measurements you enter are not sent to our server. Some tools save your progress in your own browser’s local storage so that it is still there when you return. You can remove it at any time with the clear or reset button on each tool, or by clearing your browser’s site data. See data privacy for tools.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, for example which pages are read and roughly where visitors come from. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your approximate location (derived from your IP address), your device and browser type, and the pages you view. We use this information in aggregate to improve the site and do not use it to identify individual visitors. Fonts and embedded content

This site loads typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests font files from Google’s servers and Google receives your IP address as part of that request.

Server logs

Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information about requests, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. These logs are used for security and troubleshooting.

Cookies used on this site are described in our cookie policy. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the guides and calculators will still work.

Sharing of information

We do not sell personal information. Information is shared only with the service providers described above (analytics, hosting and font delivery), or where the law requires it.
